The Dolphin Hotel is a beautiful Grade II listed building located at the heart of Southampton’s Old Town. It is not only surrounded in history but it is part of history itself, as it is over 500 years old and famously known for being where Jane Austen celebrated her 18th Birthday. The Dolhin Hotel is an impressive building that boasts two of the largest bay windows in the UK, and some of the bedrooms are situated in the old stables and feature the original beams.

The hotel is easily accessible as it is located on Southampton’s High Street and is only a mile away from Southampton Central Station and less than 5 miles from Southampton Airport.

It is now home to 99 bedrooms, which due to the hotels age are all unique in size but all offer excellent comforts including, flat screen TVs with Freeview, Iron & Ironing Board, safe, Tea & Coffee making facilities, guest toiletries and complimentary Wi-Fi.

As well as the 99 bedrooms it is home to the famous Jane Austen Suite. This room draws Jane Austen enthusiasts from all over the world that just want to stand in the room where she had danced the night away. Adorned with the above mentioned bay windows this room makes for an impressive banqueting room for up to 80 guests. It can also be divided into two separate rooms for smaller more intimate weddings.

Along with the Jane Austen Suite there is the equally impressive Gilbert Room which boasts its own bar and serves excellently as a reception room to the Jane Austen Suite.
